Peggy Joan Maxie served as Washington
State Representative inKin County's 37th district
from 1971 to 1983. Ms. Maxie graduated from Seattle
University with a degree in Psychology
and received her MSW (Masters in Social Work) from the
University of Washington .
Her work career included stints with the Office of the Attorney General,
Seattle Urban League and Seattle
University . She currently
operates Peggy Maxie and Associates, an employee assistance mental health
counseling firm.
Community Service
- Helped
to raise a half million dollars for Neighbor in
Need Hunger Drive .
- Initiated
and Coordinated three workshops to help interested parties better
understand the legislative process—combined effort attracted over
600 participants.
- Served
on Mayor’s Committee to Select a New Police Chief.
- Served
on Advisory board of Puget Sound Big Sisters.
